For Youth

This section of our website provides information and resources on privacy, which are useful for youth, parents and families, and educators.

Check out the tabs above to find games, videos, a quiz, graphic novels, activity sheets, lesson plans and more!

Privacy is not just an “adult” concern. It is important for young people and children to be aware of their right to privacy, the benefits of privacy, the risks to privacy (especially online) and how to go about protecting their privacy.

Educators and families, as well as young people themselves, can help build this awareness, if they have the right tools. Our office and other privacy commissioners in Canada are working to increase privacy awareness among young people, and to supporting privacy education and digital literacy efforts.

The materials found in this section of our website are free of charge and we hope you will find them helpful, along with links to other useful websites. We’ll be adding to the resources over time, and we would appreciate hearing from you if you have comments, suggestions or concerns. We can be reached at info@yukonombudsman.ca or communications@yukonombudsman.ca.

We are grateful for the assistance of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for its work on youth privacy (www.youthprivacy.ca) as well as the work of other privacy commissioners across the country. Some of the materials that you will find on this page were developed as joint projects of these offices.
